Raise
your hand if you remember that quirky movie from the
seventies, Five Easy Pieces. It was a little
short on plot, but it did have at least one great scene
in this little diner where Jack Nicholson has a problem
communicating his order to the waitress. After a few
attempts to make his wishes known, he gets exasperated
and clears everything off the table with one swift sweep
of his arm. I think we all wish we could resolve our
frustrations that cleanly and decisively. Unfortunately,
we'd probably find ourselves pretty much shed of all
personal relationships. That's where The Buzz Box comes
in handy. We bring you today's weirdest and wildest
news, along with a little old fashioned gossip, so you
don't have to go around breaking up the fine china to
make your point.

Madonna
to be a mama
once more
She
may be covering Don McLean's eclectic hit "American
Pie" in theaters and on radio airwaves throughout
the country, but perennial material girl Madonna, 41,
probably has baby food on the brain. Recent press reports
seem to suggest that she and her English squeeze, film
director Guy Ritchie, 31, are expecting a child. No
due date or marriage plans have been announced. How
very modern! At least now little Lourdes, Madonna's
3-year old daughter with her former hairdresser Carlos
Leon, will have someone to whom she can hand off all
those threadbare Armani jumpsuits.

A rose
by any other name may simply not sell
Speaking
of hand-me-downs, the woman who made Second-Hand Rose
a first-rate sensation has horticulturists everywhere
doing high fives. It turns out that the rose Barbra
Streisand helped create for the Edmund Rose Company
has become the best-selling bloomer in the company's
50-year history. It is a beautiful flower, but what
it really wants to do is direct.
