Young Jean Pierre had
been planning is trip to America for nearly a year.
In school, he learned about the United States and his
stateside cousins had been writing him for years, telling
him about all the things to see and do: Amusement parks,
scenic wonders of nature, beautiful museums, and the
wild, wild west. So, upon arrival, what was J.P.'s first
request? Roller coasters could wait he said. Forget
the Grand Canyon. He wanted to go get something not
available in his country-a Fisher PCD-2400C personal
CD player. All his American cousins had one and he wanted
one, too. He had heard how great the digital dynamic
bass sound system made CDs sound through the high-performance
stereo headphones. And the 40-second Opti-Trac 3D antiskip
system virtually assured a beat of music was never missed.
The unit also came with a built-in AM/FM-Stereo digital
tuner and a car kit that would let him use the player
in a vehicle.
Obviously,
Jean Pierre was a very discriminating tourist.
